Support Trinh Hoac’s Fight Against Ovarian Cancer

Donation protected
I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Trinh and her husband Sylvain to help Trinh in her fight against ovarian cancer. Here's a message from Sylvain:

"I’m reaching out to share a deeply personal and challenging journey that our family is currently navigating. My beloved wife, Trinh Hoac, has been bravely battling a form of low-grade recurrent ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed stage 3 back in 2022 at the young age of 38.

Trinh has already undergone chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and two surgeries. Despite these efforts, the cancer is still progressing and standard care is proving ineffective. There is a treatment, Trametinib, which has been proven to improve the odds for patients like her. It comes full of side effects, but it’s the last available proven treatment before ending up on experimental clinical trials.

The cost of Trametinib is around $10,000 per month, a sum that would be covered if we were under the Quebec’s RAMQ public plan. Unfortunately, we are excluded from the RAMQ drugs coverage by law, since we have access to private insurance through our employers. However, our private insurances are both declining to cover this treatment in apparent conflict with their legal obligations (private insurance must, at the very minimum, include the medications covered by the public plan). We’re trying to fight that decision, but we still need to pay out of pocket in the interim.

This is where we need your help. We’ve started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Trinh’s treatment. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to donate at this time, sharing our campaign with your friends and family would also be a huge help.
We are grateful for your support during this challenging time. Your generosity and kindness mean the world to us.

We hope that with your help, we can give Trinh a fighting chance against this disease and a future with her children. We have three beautiful young children aged between 5 and 10 who adore their mother.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
