Hello family and friends—

I am creating this GoFundMe account on behalf of Trina Morris, my aunt, of Harrisburg, NC. I currently live with Trina; (daughter Christine continues to work and live in Wilmington). Our family’s world was rocked this week when Michael Morris, Trina’s only son, died by suicide on September 8, 2025 at home. This unexpected tragedy comes after an incredible string of loss for Trina—her father’s passing 8 months ago after a lengthy hospitalization; her 58-year-old husband’s passing almost two years ago due to a long battle with early onset Alzheimer’s, and then her mother’s unexpected passing just days after husband. We can honestly say that Trina, daughter Christine, and our entire family cling to the hope we profess in Jesus as we know we will be reunited one day.

However, right now, Trina needs financial support to navigate these unexpected expenses of cremation, insurance deductibles, counseling, and living expenses. Trina has continued her employment at Bonnie Cone Classical Academy as a teacher’s aid; this year she picked up a part-time cashier job at Publix to make ends meet. Michael contributed financially as he was able while continuing to live at home after losing his father. Yet he struggled with increasing depression, sadness, a bipolar and mental illness diagnosis, and, recently, three separate instances of in-patient behavioral treatment (close to 30 days total) to refine medications and gain coping skills. Michael cooperated with every treatment offered and wanted to find his place of peace and purpose. But the gravity of life became too overwhelming for him.

Even through this tragedy, Michael being an organ donor resulted in extensive organ donation. A family visitation is scheduled for September 20th from 1pm-3pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
