On Monday April 29th, Trigger was tragically hit by a car resulting in multiple critical injuries including a cardiac contusion, lung contusion, a collapsed lung, spleen injury, right femur fracture and 4 cervical spine fractures. Through the amazing skills of 2 of Baltimore's finest Animal Critical Care Hospitals (and his family's prayers), Trigger's life was saved but he still has a long road to recovery with surgeries to repair his injuries. As you can imagine, the cost related to his care is astronomical-but his parents would do anything for anyone, especially their family members. Trigger's Mom is an Emergency Room Nurse and a Forensic Nurse Examiner, fighting for justice of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and crimes against children. Trigger's Dad is another local hero as a Paramedic and Volunteer Firefighter in Carroll County, MD, saving lives on the frontline every shift. Despite these two being heroes to many, the pay for public service workers is not what it should be. Help us give Trigger's family some relief from the debt of the veterinary bills and a jumpstart in recovering so he can once again be the running, jumping, swimming, Dock Dog, Good Boy he is!
