For the past 7 years we have poured our blood, sweat and tears into TriFit and specifically, our current location. Last year, we took a leap-of-faith to expand our square footage. We redid almost every inch of the new space to create a beautiful 24:7 gym for our members. Never did we imagine that in a years’ time we’d be faced with the decision to either to stay put and pay 2.5 times more per month or step away from the space that we’ve grown to love.

Unfortunately, the option to stay put in our current space isn’t really an option at all. We simply can’t afford the proposed rent increase. So what now? Do we shut TriFit down, do we sell the business, or do we move to a new location? When we started TriFit 9 years ago we wanted to create a group fitness class that brought people together in a way that was fun, inviting and provided a sense of community amongst each other. The reality of what TriFit has become for many has far exceeded anything we could have dreamed of 9 years ago. TriFit isn’t just a job or business to us, it’s our life and it just doesn’t feel like this book is ready to end.

Thankfully, we were put in touch with a landlord who has provided us with an incredible new space to operate TriFit out of starting April 1st. Our new space is going to need a lot a cosmetic work; flooring, paint, storage racks, demolition and rebuilding…etc. These are costs that we didn’t plan on and will struggle to cover ourselves.
