Support Tricia's Treatment

Tricia went home peacefully to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, Nov 17th. She was at home, surrounded by her five children and husband.

Throughout Tricia's entire 22-month journey, she inspired many family, friends and even strangers with her incredible strength, courage, and faithfulness to God.

Tricia will be remembered for her contagious smile and her inspiring faith. She was known for her competitive spirit, light-hearted sense of humor, selflessness and humility. There are no words for how much she will be missed.

Support Tricia’s Treatments

Tricia’s journey began in August of 2020, when she experienced a persistent cough and in September abdominal pain. A CT scan of her chest and abdomen showed nothing unusual. The cough and abdominal pain continued into January of 2021. Tricia had an MRI of her lower spine with a theory that it may be back pain radiating to the abdomen. The MRI revealed some spots in her lower right lung and on the liver. After further evaluation, it was diagnosed as lung and liver cancer which was a complete shock to her and Steve.

The diagnosis: Incurable Early Stage 4 Lung Cancer (small cell), metastatic (spread) to the liver. 

Since small cell lung cancer spreads quickly, Tricia began treatment February 9th, the same day she received her diagnosis. It is extremely rare for a non-smoker, like Tricia, to develop this type of cancer. Her treatment thus far has consisted of 3 rounds of immunotherapy and chemotherapy with the possibility of another 3 rounds in the coming months.

If you have had the opportunity to know or meet Tricia, you know how she lives each day full of love, compassion, generosity and faith. She is a devoted wife and an amazing mother to five children. She brings kindness, joy and laughter to every person and situation she encounters. Many who know her express how fortunate they are to have her in their lives. Her smile and positive attitude, even during times of great difficulty, have been an inspiration to all. From playing board games to raising her family, she tackles every challenge with a sense of humor, determination and light-hearted competitiveness. 

Tricia’s faithfulness to God has always been evident in her daily life. During these challenging times Tricia finds comfort in Philippians 4:6-7 “Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Your generous donation will relieve the burden of Tricia’s current and future medical and living expenses giving her and her family the flexibility to make ends meet. Our goal is to help Tricia attend to her mental and physical health rather than dollar signs and debt. Although we may feel powerless in this difficult time, your donation will simplify the lives of Tricia’s family and allow them to concentrate on supporting Tricia.  

The overwhelming amount of support for Tricia and her family has been admirable and is keeping Tricia energized and in good spirits. Tricia is extremely grateful for the support that has been shown, and acknowledges that she could not do this alone. Thank you for your support!
