Jory met Tricia Crownover in the summer of 1996. They quickly fell in love and started building their life together with her young son. Jory loved him like his own from the very first meeting. Just two months after Kelcie was born Jory was diagnosed with Lupus, which he continued to valiantly fight for the entirety of his life. He refused to let the disease keep him from experiencing and doing the things he and Tricia loved. He seldom complained about the difficulties he dealt with every day, instead choosing joy and perseverance to create memories with his loved ones and pride in what he made of his home.
When they decided to move to Florida (where Jory thought he could breathe easier) they did it! They truly enjoyed their lives in Spring Hill, Florida, especially when their grandson Oliver was around. It wasn’t long before Oliver’s mom and dad moved too. It was a decision that worked out for everyone involved, without regrets.
Jory passed after a long and courageous battle with Lupus most of his life, combined with a brief struggle with pneumonia and RSV in March 2026. Tricia is the strongest, most determined woman we know. When she reached out for help, we knew right away it was out of need. We immediately thought maybe a GoFundMe page would be an opportunity to reach out to people’s good nature to help make some money to help Tricia with the truck. Tricia means so much to us that it would be impossible for us to do nothing!
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward paying off the car, giving Tricia the chance to remain in her now most beloved Florida home. This support will provide her with some stability and peace of mind as she navigates this difficult transition. By contributing to this needed fundraiser—whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign—it will make a meaningful difference for Jory’s family that he leaves behind.
