Help Us Find Answers for Trey – A Journey of Hope

Trey and I met in middle school at 13, bonding over our love for music in chorus class. This April, we will celebrate 10 beautiful years of marriage—a milestone we once dreamed about as kids.
My strong, healthy husband with endless energy and dedication to help others worked tirelessly, often 50-60 hours a week at our local church- a job he loved and poured himself into day and night. He worked hard to support our family, including myself, our son, our daughter, our 4-year-old grandson, and his mother.
But in June of 2023, our world turned upside down when Trey suddenly fell ill. It started with a simple complaint: he was tired, and his feet hurt. Understandable, given how much time he spent on them. But within a day, his condition rapidly worsened. What we thought would be a routine hospital visit turned into a nightmare. Within an hour of arrival, Trey went into septic shock. He was rushed to the ICU, fighting for his life.
Doctors searched for answers but found none. After 10 agonizing days, they sent him home—still weak, still unable to walk without a cane, and still a mystery.
For the past year and a half, we have desperately sought answers, seeing specialist after specialist, only to hear the same devastating words: We don’t know what’s wrong.
But now, we have a glimmer of hope. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota has accepted Trey as a patient in mid-March—our best chance yet to uncover the truth and get him the treatment he so desperately needs.
Due to his illness, Trey can no longer work. I lost my job while caring for him and our sweet 8-year-old son, who has watched his father struggle and fade before his eyes. This journey to Mayo is our lifeline, but the costs of travel, medical expenses, and daily survival have become overwhelming.
And so, I humbly ask for your help. If you can contribute financially or by sharing our story, it would mean the world to our family and everyone who knows and loves my husband. Trey is a proud man who has always cared for others and never asks for anything. So today, I am asking for him.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity, and most of all, for lifting Trey in your thoughts and prayers. We are holding on to hope, and with your support, we believe that answers—and healing—are within reach.

With love and gratitude,
Christina
