Hi EVERYONE!!!
I'm Trevor Corbett, and I want to "KEEP UTAH CLEAN." I've grown up in North Ogden/Downtown Ogden my entire life. After serving a two year service mission for my church, I started trail running, paddle boarding, hiking, and climbing in our local mountains. One day while I was writing music down by the Ogden river I notice an incredible amount of garbage along the river bed. The next day I borrowed some latex gloves and extra duty garbage bags from my work and started cleaning. within an hour I had filled 3 large black garbage bags in just a 100 yard section.
My goal is to "keep Utah Clean". I want to travel our state cleaning up what others are leaving behind. Whether you visit our trail's, nature center's, river's, or reservoir's, you are bound to find trash. Just this past year I found eight tires and three mattresses in the North Ogden Nature Center alone. These are our local trails that our friends, families, and children walk through everyday. My mission is to make our community and trails clean and safe for all locals and tourists a like.
I've taken my idea to the city who quickly told me that this is not a job that they could or would hire me for. Yes they have means to keep our community clean; the issue here is, is that the city does not drive around our trail's, river's, and reservoir's looking for trash, and no one seems to be calling the city to have these large amounts of garbage or homeless camps cleaned up. That's where I come in. Not only will I be searching for trash as I travel our state, I will also be posting videos and blogs on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube, for everyone to see what difference they are making as they support me via GoFundMe.
I would also strongly encourage anyone and everyone to keep their eyes out for any area within the city or the mountains that needs cleaning; then post that information on my page, and I will make plans to get the job done as soon as possible.
Thank you for all of your kindness and support. I could not do this without you. Your money will help support my bills, materials needed to complete the job, gas money (car camping) and child support. After years of not finding a job that brought purpose to my life, I realized that this is how I wanted to make a living; to do something that is truly meaningful, and that can bless all of our lives, and generations to come.
Let's "KEEP UTAH CLEAN"
Your friendly neighborhood garbage man,
Trevor Jackson Corbett
