On June 8th, I will be donating a kidney to my son, Travis. He is only 43 years old and has been bravely undergoing dialysis for the last two years. Travis is so deserving of this chance to get his life back, and we are filled with hope and gratitude as we prepare for his transplant surgery.

The journey ahead will be challenging. Travis will need time to recover, and during that period, he will still have to manage rent, utilities, and the cost of traveling 140 miles each way for frequent medical appointments. While I’ll be by his side and he receives some disability support, it’s simply not enough to cover all the bills and living expenses that will pile up during this critical time.
