Help Support Travis and His Family Through His Cancer Journey
Hi, my name is Sandy, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend and employee, Katie, and her husband, Travis.
Travis is a loving husband and devoted father of four. He’s been bravely battling cancer, and after facing multiple relapses, the time has come for a major next step: an allogeneic stem cell transplant using donor cells.
Travis’s journey began in July 2023 with a diagnosis of stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He underwent six months of chemotherapy, a treatment doctors told them had a high likelihood of curing the cancer. When that approach was unsuccessful, he moved forward with an auto stem cell transplant, which is using his own cells. Once again, the family was told this would likely be the treatment that would cure his cancer. It brought one year of remission. Now, the family is facing another difficult chapter, as Travis has once again relapsed which is why an allogeneic stem cell transplant is the next step.
The University of Minnesota has thankfully found multiple donor matches, and Travis is preparing to begin a new chemotherapy regimen this week. If all goes to plan, he’ll move forward with the transplant in late August. This will require Travis and his family to relocate to the Twin Cities for at least three months — one month in the hospital and two months in nearby housing. Their two younger children will stay with them, while the older two will remain home with family and visit when possible.
They are also pursuing complementary therapies to support Travis's body, locally and in California, to give him the best chance for healing.
This journey has already been long and difficult, and the road ahead will involve not only significant medical treatment but also extensive travel and time away from work. We’re hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden on their family during this time — allowing them to focus on what matters most: healing and being together.
