Travis McKinney a life long resident of Watervliet Michigan, was diagnosed with Early Onset Parkinson’s in 2019 but showed symptoms as early as 2010.
Travis is a Veteran of the United States Navy, Husband, Father, Grandfather, an Uncle and a friend to all. He has always been there for his family, friends and his community. It's now time for us to be there for him.
He's currently involved in an ongoing case study through the University of Chicago Medical Center, being reviewed by the FDA. While the treatment has showed improvement with symptoms of this disease, he still struggles with mobility issues. The cause of PD is not known and there is no family history. His Parkinson’s was likely caused environmentally through chemical or toxin exposures. In February 2021 he made the difficult decision to stop working. The disease affects his ability to perform basic work duties and the disease has progressed quickly. He and his wife Nicole have a son and three daughters.
Proceeds from the T-Tremors Foundation to Tackle Parkinson's will be used to make home accessibility improvements, provide equipment as well as cover medications and travel costs to medical appointments in Chicago, IL Battle Creek, MI and wherever the Parkinson's journey may take Travis and his family.
