Support Travis Jones' Fight for a New Liver

Good evening everybody, my name's Lauren, the significant other to Travis Jones. Just so you have a little more insight on him... He’s only 32 years old and has a now 12-year-old daughter that he loves very very much! First and foremost, we wanna ask for any and all prayers or positive/healing vibrations that you all can send his/our way! You can never receive enough prayers in tough times like these!! I think anyone who is truly religious or spiritual can agree!

So let’s start from the beginning... Back in January/February, when the snowstorm hit, Travis was diagnosed with “early signs” of Cirrhosis of the Liver. He was throwing up blood continuously. We were trying to wait for the snowstorm to clear up so we could drive safely on the roads, but it got so bad that the next morning we said enough and just went up to the hospital anyway. What we didn’t know is that Travis had torn/ruptured a vein in his throat from throwing up so much that the blood wouldn’t stop. So he had to get an endoscopy procedure to put a band in his esophagus. The bleeding had stopped.

Now, 6 months later, after being diagnosed with supposedly “Early Cirrhosis,” it had obviously been a lot worse than we were aware of... Because AGAIN, only 5/6 MONTHS LATER, on July 28, 2025, Travis started throwing up blood AGAIN. He had just gone back to the hospital just weeks before so they could do a checkup on the band in his esophagus. They ended up having to do another one. Still no bleeding. But on the early morning of July 28, 2025, Travis yet again started throwing up blood. Not telling anyone what was going on, he still tried to go to work like any other day. Well, when he got to work, a coworker saw him throwing up in the parking lot. He wasn’t even gone 30/45 mins and was brought back home. I then took him straight to the hospital after nothing he did made him feel better or stop throwing up blood. He started to go into a state where he was pretty much fainting and almost couldn’t stand up on his own. So after taking him straight to the hospital and getting sent straight to the back because of the seriousness of it all, they put him in a room. As soon as the nurses and doctors walked out, he ended up having to go to the restroom. Well, when he went to stand up off the hospital bed, he nearly fainted again. He then leaned on the counter next to the trash can to try to hold himself up. Well, then he started throwing up blood again in the trash can. At that time, he didn’t have time to make it to the restroom like he was trying to do to begin with, so of course, it just naturally came out. Except when it came out... The doctor, the nurses, and myself quickly became aware that it was not natural at all whatsoever. When it came out, it ended up being straight blood. So now at that point, he’s bleeding from not only his throat/stomach, he’s then bleeding from his rectal area also. No color at all, like what your natural bathroom stop would be, it was just straight black/red. We all really quickly noticed that he was losing way too much blood. They then had to do a blood transfusion and then unfortunately had to put him on the vent. The hospital we were at ended up not having the ability (legally) to fix him or do the procedures he so desperately needed. So he then was put to sleep, put on the ventilator, and prepped for the helicopter so he could be Medevac’d to MUSC ART, where he could be properly treated. He then spent almost 3 days on the ventilator in MUSC ICU, including during the most important surgery he had to get done, which was the emergency T.I.P.S Procedure. It was so serious that they usually do not even use that surgery/procedure, but he was in such bad shape that they had no other choice. He was/is dying, and they had to do whatever they knew they could to keep him alive. During his 3rd day on the ventilator, a couple of hours after the T.I.P.S surgery/procedure, he thankfully was able to come off of the ventilator with the help of all the amazing doctors, surgeons, nurses, and of course, our Lord and Savior!! Because of all of them, he is still alive today, although they said he is a walking miracle and should not be alive! But we still ended up staying another 3 weeks in the Acute Unit after he got out of the ICU that first week. He ended up having to have another surgery the same morning we were supposed to go home a couple of weeks later because they thought it would bring all of his levels back down. So he went in for the 2nd T.I.P.S procedure. Little did we all know that it would come to make everything so much worse. The next morning when he woke up, all his levels flew up, and from his thighs all the way down to his feet swelled enormously. So after that 2nd procedure, everything got miraculously worse! After we didn’t think it could! We were wrong. Altogether, he had 4 surgeries/procedures done within 1 week before things finally began to settle down, and things still took extra weeks afterward for them to even somewhat settle down. We ended up having to stay 2 more weeks after all the procedures were said and done. He is now home, not exactly in the best of places or shape, but getting better day by day. Although he does have to have a Liver Transplant in 6 months once he makes it onto the list. Which is the whole reason why we’re making this fundraiser. Besides the hospital bills, not to mention all his medications, we have NO IDEA as of right now how he’s going to come up with the funds to proceed with the Liver Transplant when the time comes. Like I said, we’re struggling just to get all of his medications and upfront appointment co-pays paid for so he can even continue appointments and outpatient treatment. Even if you can’t help, please say a prayer or share this fundraiser anywhere you’re able to! If you know Travis, then you know he is a good man and a great father! He will give the shirt off his back just to help a stranger. I’ve watched him help plenty with nothing given back in return!! Like I said, if nothing else, then please SHARE and say a PRAYER!! Thanks in advance!!!!
