My nephew, Travis Sitterly, was diagnosed with brain cancer on April 28, 2026. After severe headaches, a fever and nausea, he went to Urgent Care. From there, he was sent to St. Peter’s Hospital and was quickly transported via ambulance to Albany Medical Center where he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Travis’s life changed quickly; he’s been unable to work, but he is ready to fight. I hope you’ll consider helping him during this extremely difficult time.
Trav’s brain cancer is located near/on the pineal gland. It is a rare and aggressive mass that requires an intensive treatment plan. Surgically removing it is not an option. He will have his first chemotherapy session at the Melodie’s Center for Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders this month. It will be intense: a lot of bloodwork, and many CT scans and MRIs to constantly measure his progress. He is not sure, yet, if he will need proton therapy (a type of radiation) in addition to chemotherapy. Travel to Rochester and NYC may be in his future.
Travis Aaron is my younger sister Jamie’s baby. He is a kind-hearted, hardworking, all-around good person. The real good. He is so compassionate and caring. When discussing a treatment plan with his oncologist, Trav was comforted to learn that the treatment of his rare condition will help others in the future. He is such a wonderful human. He works for everything he wants and needs. He never asks for anything. He is dedicated and loyal to his family, his partner, his friends and his employer. He’s Jamie's son. He's a nephew; he’s a little brother to my niece Abby, a grandson, uncle, cousin, a partner to Liv; and a friend to so many.
Healthcare is expensive, especially when you are undergoing cancer treatment. Please consider helping to cover the cost of his medical bills and other healthcare expenses. I want my 21-year-old nephew (who will be 22 on June 24) to focus on himself - on his health and on this battle. Thank you for considering. Any amount is appreciated. It will alleviate some stress associated with the cost of lifesaving treatment. #TeamTravis
