Support Travis Bittner's Road to Recovery

Hello if you are receiving this you are likely a close friend of Travis Bittner. I am reaching out to let many of you know Travis was hospitalized last week for what everyone believed to be a food borne illness. During his work up at TGH he was discovered to have a right internal carotid complete occlusion and subsequent ischemic stroke. The result of this is some noticeable impairment on his left side but if is likely he will recover in time provided no worsening of his condition. Unfortunately this was not the only adverse finding. He was also determined to have endocarditis with valvular damage that could require replacement or repair of either his Aortic, pulmonic valve or both. Final answer on surgery is sending. Travis’ plan of care will require a continued hospitalization through the week into next and it is almost certain he will need to go home on IV antibiotics for a number of weeks before they will clear him for surgery. The road ahead includes rehab for his stroke, antibiotics for his infection and repair of his heart valves as a result of his endocarditis.

I am sure you would all agree that to know Travis is to love him and all his crazy antics. He is the life of the party wherever he goes and he always makes sure he lives life to the fullest. He is a great friend and family member to those that love him. I am asking for you to keep Travis in your thoughts and prayers. It is my hope that his large network of friends and loved ones can come together to help him financial as he would benefit from some assistance. While he is recovering I don’t want him to have to stress about how he is going to pay for his treatments and his bills in general.
