Let me introduce you to Tracy Fraser, a hard-working, dedicated, loving mom, sister, daughter, soon to be grandmother, aunt, and friend to so many. The people that know her...know that she is a thoughtful, sensitive, giving, spiritual, and a strong single parent (to us, her 3 daughters) after the unexpected death of our father in 2007. She has been dedicated and extraordinarily giving of herself as a mother and we want to launch this campaign to help support our mom at a time when she needs it the most!
Our family is facing a challenge now that is beyond our control and we really need your support.
In December 2016, just a few days before Christmas we were all surprised to find out that our mother was diagnosed with a bicuspid thoracic ascending aortic aneurysm, a condition in which the heart's valve does not pump blood properly due to the increasing size of the aneurysm. This condition causes the heart to overexert itself and can ultimately result in a burst aorta. Tracy has no other option but to have this heart condition corrected surgically as soon as possible. The great news is that she found an experienced heart surgeon close to her home in Myrtle Beach, SC and is scheduled for surgery on February 10, 2017!
This surgery requires an open chest procedure with a valve and aorta stem replacement, a 5-day intensive care stay, then a 5-day medical stay in the hospital. Once discharged it usually takes 10-12 weeks to recuperate from the surgery and can be very painful. The surgeon will not allow her to work for a minimum of 10 weeks. As a single Mom, Tracy is extremely concerned about supporting her 2 younger children who live with her, while they are enrolled in college.
All of you that know Tracy, know she has always faced all challenges head on, rarely asks for help, and is very self-sufficient. She does not like asking for help, but in this case, she really needs it as her family is unable to contribute enough money to meet the health care deductibles and after-care recovery costs due to her inability to work.
Please help us fund and support our mom’s surgery and her recovery so she may live a full healthy life! Our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution you can make.
Thank you so much, Tracy's daughters: Amanda (and baby girl due in March), Anna and MaryEmma Fraser
