Please join us in supporting Jay and Tracy as they navigate this difficult time. Shortly after a knee injury in late October, Tracy had a reaction to prescribed NSAIDs (Advil), resulting in Acute Kidney Injury and a flare-up of Normocytic Anemia. She has spent the last couple of months in and out of the hospital, including visits on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
Thankfully, her kidney function is improving, and the gastroenterologist and Tracy’s care team are working to identify the cause of the anemia. She has responded well to blood transfusions and has decided to augment her care with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Because of her knee injury and weakened state, she is temporarily relying on a wheelchair until her strength returns.
Her husband Jay has been the rock throughout this ordeal, embracing his role as primary caregiver while working and finishing grad school. Tracy had to step down from her teaching assistant position and suspend her doctoral pursuit, and looks forward to returning to both in the not-too-distant future.
Thankfully, insurance covers a fair portion of Tracy’s care but not everything, including complementary treatment. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you again for supporting this dynamic duo in their time of need.
