Hello! My name is Kristy Skjerseth-Hammond. I am a good friend of Tracy Clemens We were introduced when she was looking for a wire fox in California. She waited for over a year and was finally able to get one from Bill McFadden in early 2022. She named her puppy, Thompson, to honor her mom who had recently passed away. She travels with him back and forth to Idaho from California to care for her father.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help Tracy raise funds for Thompson after an unfortunate attack by one of two Newfoundland dogs while she was walking with Thompson on a quiet road down from her father's house in Idaho. As she was walking with Thompson, two Newfoundlands approached her and one lunged toward Thompson. She was able to get Thompson away and wrapped herself around him. Unfortunately, she and Thompson did suffer injuries during the attack. Thompson, so far, has required two surgeries for a port and tube (for initial and once to be replaced), stitches, several rounds of antibiotics, and vet office visits. Tracy needed medical attention at Urgent Care due to bites, cuts, and scratches. They are still in Idaho as Thompson hasn't yet been cleared to fly back to California with Tracy. He hasn't yet been assessed by the trainer who trained him for his ADA Service Dog certification. He needs to heal first. There could be potential ramifications regarding whether he will be able to return to do his service work for her.

She has met with the owner of the Newfoundland dogs, but he has denied that his dogs were involved in the attack and has refused to help. We are hoping that you consider a donation for Tracy and Thompson.
