Hello my name is Kayla Dudziak and I am a friend of Tracy and Chris. I met the Fiegl's through coaching their daughter, Gia in softball and later discovered that my husband worked with Chris for the NYSDOCCS. On February 4th, Tracy underwent what was thought to be a routine surgery but turned out to be one of the scariest experiences of their lives. Tracy was diagnosed with DIC (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation), a life-threatening disorder that disrupts the normal blood clotting process. This leads to organ damage and uncontrollable bleeding; the survival rate is anywhere from 30%-50%. Chris was advised by her surgeon to have their children and her parents come to the hospital immediately because they were not confident that she was going to survive..

She was rushed into her first emergency surgery to try to stop the bleeding. The next day Tracy underwent another four surgeries, and her fifth and final surgery was to remove her spleen. It was later discovered that she was in both kidney and liver failure which would lead to her having to receive dialysis, be intubated and on a ventilator with a chest tube. Still in the ICU after 17 days, Tracy is slightly responsive but still completely unaware of what happened and the severity of her current health status.

With that being said, Chris was told that Tracy will remain in the hospital until at least August to recover. Tracy is a fighter, and her chances were very slim, but against all odds, she is fighting for her life. As some know, Tracy is a nurse and is constantly giving back and helping others. She will be out of work for the foreseeable future and Chris will have to accommodate his schedule as not only A NYS C.O, but as a business owner as well.

As we do not know what the future looks for Tracy and her health, I have set up this GoFundMe to help alleviate any financial burdens that come with medical emergencies. Chris and Tracy are two of the most giving people I know, and they would give the shirts off their backs. So, I would like to return the favor and give back to a family who deserves the world. From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the whole Fiegl family, I would like to say thank you to anybody who donates to support them.
