Hi, I'm Tracy. You may know me from my work in TTRPGs, podcasting, or Magic. I wish we didn't have to do this, but we need help.

TL;DR - We're very behind on our bills because of a long series of difficult events. We need support to keep our utilities on while more work comes in.

Long version - In May of 2023, my wife, Elissa, lost her job. She was five months post-partum with our second kid. We scrambled, pulled together freelance work, and figured things out. Then, nearly a year after she lost her full-time job, she got into a car accident. We went from her being able to work some, to none.

We asked for help then, too. I did a different GoFundMe, streamed a Magic event where the community rallied around us, and we got a down payment for a new car... which turned out to have a mechanical fault. The dealership repaired it, but that who process took another two weeks. So from May - July, we had no car. No car meant no reliable work and bills kept piling up.

But the car got repaired and we were ready to get our feet under us. That lasted for about two weeks. Then Elissa found out that the work she'd been doing was out of funds. No more freelance work. Just blow after blow. And all alongside this, I kept working, taking care of the kids, and hustling to keep the lights on. People donating to win a commander deck, wrote and released a new TTRPG, trying to find more audio and video editing work, selling off Magic cards... whatever I could do, really.

That brings us to now. We've been cobbling things together, setting up payment plans, and now we're out of other options. We're largely out of things to sell. We're going to look into other assistance, but that takes time. I have more regular work coming but it's not here right now. So, we need help.

Anything raised here is going to bills. The goal listed here is the minimum of what we need. That will keep us going. If we raise more than that, it will help get us ahead.

If you read this far, thank you. At the top, I said I don't want to be doing this, and I don't. At the same time, it's an amazing comfort to know that I have communities I can ask for support. So I'm asking. And down the road, I hope to pay this forward.
