Many of you have seen the recent news coverage about the gas explosion and fire that destroyed an apartment building in Taunton today 2/25/26.
What you may not know is that one of those units was home to our dear friend, Tracy (Victorino) Middendorf.
While she was away on a business trip in California, a gas explosion tore through her apartment building, reducing her home and belongings to debris. By sheer grace, she was not home at the time. For that, we are endlessly grateful.
But she has lost everything.
Because she did not have renter’s insurance, there is no safety net to help her recover what was taken in an instant... clothing, furniture, personal belongings, important documents, cherished keepsakes all gone.
Most heartbreakingly, her beloved cats were both lost to the fire. Anyone who knows Tracy knows how deeply she loves her animals, they are family. The grief she is carrying right now is unimaginable.
She is flying home tonight to face the aftermath... not an apartment to return to, but rubble, loss, and the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing.
We are starting this fundraiser to help her cover:
Immediate necessities (clothing, toiletries, food)
Temporary housing and security deposits
Replacing basic household items
Transportation needs after losing her vehicle
Veterinary expenses and arrangements for her cat
Expenses not covered by property management or emergency relief
Without renter’s insurance, she is truly beginning again from zero.
If you are able to give, any amount big or small will help her take the first steps forward. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world.
Let’s surround her with the love and support she has always given to others. She is not alone in this.
Thank you for helping her rebuild her life. ❤️
