Support Traci's Family After Job Loss

My name is Traci. I’m a mother/stepmother of these 5 beautiful children. My husband, Trev, is an amazing husband. I was the only one working due to my husband's disability. He is a disabled, veteran. I’m a nurse and was working 100% remote from home as a triage nurse, which worked perfectly for me because I’m immunocompromised.

I was recently fired from my position with a company I’m not going to name, but they’re a pretty large company. We serviced the entire U.S. The problem I’m facing is I was fired 5 days before Christmas and 6 days before a trip we were going to take our family on. I had to cancel the trip, obviously. It’s not so much the fact I was let go, but how it was done. I never received a write-up, verbal warning of termination, and was told I scored better than most people at the stage of employment I was in. I even received a Christmas card from my manager telling me how excited she was to have me on her team.

Now, I’m facing not being able to pay my bills. I don’t even know what kind of job I can do being immunocompromised. I hate being the one to ask for help. Yes, my husband receives disability from the VA; however, he still pays a high amount of child support to his ex.
