December 14th, 2023 was a day we won't forget. Traci was given the devastating news that she has uterine cancer. After many tests, it was determined that she has metastatic (stage 4) endometrial cancer. To make matters worse, she learned it is a rare, aggressive form of cancer, endometrial serous carcinoma. This form behaves much like ovarian cancer, spreads very quickly, and has a high rate of recurrence. Traci's has already spread as far as her cervical lymph nodes. Due to the numerous affects of her cancer, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy she is unable to function in her role as a nurse practitioner. When she was diagnosed, she had been employed at University of Michigan for six months rendering her ineligible for paid medical leave and university funded benefits.

This leads to the purpose of this "Go Fund Me." In order to maintain her medical and prescription benefits she has to pay over $800 per month. Maintaining her benefits is crucial to her survival. Without medical insurance coverage Traci would be unable to receive the medical treatment she so desperately needs. It is our goal to raise the money to pay her monthly insurance costs for the remainder of this year. We hope that through this fundraiser we can alleviate the extra burden that having to come up with this monthly payment is causing. Traci has no current income and her savings is rapidly dwindling. It is imperative that she continues to receive this life saving treatment. Any amount of help is greatly appreciated. She's fighting a good fight but needs your help to live as long as possible.
