Hi,

My name is Kristy and I'm fundraising for my friend Tracey Mackie to help cover expenses for medical travel.

Following a surgery to remove a mass from Tracey's neck, a biopsy revealed that she has a rare form of cancer called Chordoma. With no treatment options available within Canada, Tracey must travel to one of the few hospitals in the United States that specialize in Chordoma for treatment. Jacksonville, Florida will become home for 8 weeks as she undergoes the unique treatment methods for this type of cancer. This fundraiser will assist Tracey and her family in dealing with necessary leaves from work, international travel, long duration accommodations and expenses related to living in an out-of-country city for two months.

Tracey has spent her life in the service of others in many different forms. While I met her at my school where she works as an EA, an Educational Assistant for children with a variety of needs, she has also served her community as a Paramedic and a Real Estate Agent. Whether it be helping children with exceptional needs, helping the injured and ailing, or helping new and growing families find homes to build lives in - Helping has always been her way of life. Now, in her time of need as she undertakes a second battle with cancer, is when we reach back to help her. Please join me in helping Tracey relieve the burdens ahead of her.
