Donation protected
Hi everyone, on August 14th 2020 our mom, Tracey Elliott, suffered a major stroke. She was rushed to Carroll Hospital and then transported to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD to undergo surgery. The surgeon removed a blood clot in her carotid artery that filled up and went to her brain. The surgeons were able to clear the clot and placed a stent in her neck to act as her new artery. For the last 3 weeks she has been in the neurological rehabilitation center at Sinai completing 3 different forms of therapy.
About a week before, Tracey went to our primary doctor with complaints of her right hand feeling number and the doctor misdiagnosed her and instead referred her to an orthopedic surgeon for compressed nerves. We later realized that these were early symptoms of a stroke that was soon to happen.
The surgeons, doctors, nurses and therapists have all been working together to ensure that our mom is ready to come home. Her discharge date is set for September 18th and will be coming home requiring much supervision. Our mom will be out of work for quite some time and has an extremely long and difficult road ahead. Our entire family has a long road ahead and the medical bills are already stacking up.
As many of you know Tracey, you know she is one of the most genuine and kind-hearted individuals. Tracey has always put others before herself so we ask if you have any sort of donation to offer we are forever grateful. Our family appreciates all the love and support we have received from everyone so far and we can't thank everyone enough.
