Hello, my name is Oluwatoyin (Toyin) Adewumi, and I am a breast cancer thriver. In 2017 I was first diagnosed and this year, March, there was a recurrence that hit my liver, spine, skull and thoracic cavity. Despite the aggressiveness of the cancer, I am glad to announce that I am doing well and disease regression is happening.
Walking through the journey of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery was one of the most difficult experiences of my life—but it also gave me a new purpose.
In Nigeria, thousands of women lose their lives each year to breast cancer and cervical cancer, not because treatment is impossible, but because their cancers are detected too late. Many women simply cannot afford screenings or do not have access to healthcare services that could save their lives.
I want to continue to change that. My mission is to create a program that offers free breast cancer and cervical cancer screenings, health education, and patient support services to women in underserved Nigerian communities, starting with the south west region.
Why This Matters
Breast and cervical cancers are two of the deadliest cancers affecting women in Nigeria.
Early detection dramatically increases survival rates.
Access to affordable screenings is limited for women in rural and low-income communities.
What Your Donation Will Do
Your generous support will help me raise $30,000 to:
-Organize free breast and cervical cancer screening clinics in underserved areas.
-Provide educational workshops on prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles.
-Train a new crop of cancer care advocates so that those undergoing diagnoses get proper care
-Support women who are newly diagnosed with counseling, patient navigation, and resources.
-Partner with doctors, nurses, and volunteers to expand care and awareness.
How Your Donation Will Help
Every dollar you give will go directly toward bringing life-saving services to these women:
$20 → Provides breast self-exam kits and educational materials for 4 women.
$50 → Covers cervical cancer screenings for 3 women.
$250 → Food basket for 3 women undergoing active cancer treatment.
$500 → Trains 10 local healthcare workers and volunteers to continue screenings and education.
$1,000 → Sponsors a breast and cervical cancer awareness campaign reaching hundreds of women.
$2,000 → Sponsors the creation of a learning management system in a local Nigeria language to support advocates
$5,000 → Equips a mobile outreach team with medical supplies to reach rural areas for several months.
✨ Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to saving lives.
Together, We Can Save Lives
I know the fear and uncertainty that comes with cancer. I also know the hope that comes with early detection and proper care. With your help, we can give that same hope to women who would otherwise go without.
No amount is too small—every contribution makes a difference. Please join me in making a lasting impact. Donate, share this campaign, and stand with me in the fight against breast and cervical cancer in Nigeria.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
