On Saturday 3/22, Townes was having issues with bowel movements and diarrhea here and there but was in generally good spirits. On Sunday 3/23, he started vomiting early in the morning until 5pm when he started vomiting some blood. At that point we decided to take him to an emergency animal hospital. At Falls Road Animal Hospital, Townes was given supportive medications and was sent home with us to be supervised with prescription medications to aid his recovery. After returning home, Townes was lethargic, hardly eating and drinking but appeared to be doing better than before with no vomiting and keeping some fluids and solids down. As of Monday 3/24 at 10pm, Townes finally seemed ready for a short walk however on our walk he had severe straining and passed a lot of blood rectally. At this point, we took him straight to the animal hospital in Belair MD to figure it out, since Falls Road was in the process of moving. At the Belair Animal Hospital, our bills racked up to $1018 in addition to the $438 spent at Falls Road Animal Hospital the day before. Today, Tuesday 3/25, we had to spend another $657 with his primary veterinarian at Northwind Animal Hospital to run tests and get to the bottom of what’s going on with him. This brings our total to $2113.

Townes parents, Will & Lauren, were not approved for care credit due to our outstanding debt and could really use the help of our community. As an update, Townes was given a general diagnoses of aggressive gastritis or pancreatitis, likely due to a reaction to something he ate. Currently he is doing much better and in good spirits and happily eating his prescribed diet but we are keeping a close eye on him in the case he declines again.
