Recently, our low pressure misting pump finally died in the aviary. As temperatures approach 100+ degrees f, it is crucial we replace it quickly to keep the birds comfortable and safe outside. I would like to upgrade the pump to something high pressure that will cool the area even more (up to 20-30 degrees of cooling).

Items needed:

-vet expenses (especially for newt)

-laser therapy for newts arthritis (potentially)

-travel expenses

-storage shed

-aviary foliage, fruit trees etc

-aviary maintenance

-Separate building for the birds/new aviaries

This page will be updated periodically for 2025 needs for the toucans- starting with the misting pump and travel expenses to pick a new rescue. It will also (hopefully) make the birds lives even better and a little easier for me to care for them. Later this year we will also use this to help cover the costs of a revisit to the vet for Newts arthritis and I'm sure much more including much needed equipment to continue to give them a happy life! I would also really love to eventually pay someone to help us start an official non profit to make things like this easier. Unfortunately, the birds direct needs must come first. Additional aviary expansion and cold weather proofing is also needed eventually... For now we are just taking things a day at a time :)
