Here is the link for Tou Hmong's obituary and funeral: https://www.malcorefuneralhome.com/obituaries/Tou-Lee/#!/Obituary
Medical expenses and funeral costs are expensive and we are grateful for your continued donations. Please continue to pray for the family.
Update: Saturday, April 13th, the decision was made to take Tou off the ventilator. On the morning of Tuesday, April 16th, Tou Hmong took his last breath. We are thankful for all your prayers and support. We ask that you continue to pray for the family and share our post.
Tou Hmong is a great son, brother, friend, father, and husband. He is known to always take care of his family. Despite hardships in his life, he always manages to keep people laughing. Tou Hmong and Sousie were married in 2009 and have two boys, Kevin and Jakob. Kevin is 8 and Jakob is 6. They bought a new house 3 years ago and have been working hard to make it their home. The boys recently had spring break and the family took a trip to Florida
After their trip, Tou Hmong contracted the flu virus and was admitted in the ER for pneumonia on April 1st. His lungs were weak and he had difficulty providing oxygen throughout his body. He was unable to breathe. He was put on ECMO and was placed on a ventilator to help him breathe. Unfortunately, during the period where he was unable to provide oxygen throughout his body, his brain became deprived.
Days past, and Tou Hmong's lungs had improved from when he was admitted. Tou Hmong was taken off the ECMO machine but is still on a ventilator. After MRI scans of his brain, the doctors have determined that he no longer has any brain activity.
We are asking for any help you can provide for Sousie in covering medical expenses and for the future of their children.
Here is a message from Sousie:
"In a moment life can change. My heart has been breaking. It’s been a week since I last heard Tou Hmong’s voice. It’s been a week since Kevin and Jakob has seen their dad. We miss him so much. Still praying to the Giver of Life for healing for Tou Hmong. I continue to hold his hand, talk to him, pray with/for him, and hope that he will open his eyes and be healed. They say that his brain is damaged and he is gone and that I will have to make the hardest decision of my life very soon. I hold on to the truth that God is greater. Thank you to those who have and continue to pray. Thank you to those who have visited and supported us. Those who have given to us in this time. God bless you. I ask for you to continue to pray with me for Tou Hmong to wake up and to be healed. Yet God’s will be done. Pray for our families. Live each moment as it is your last and love so you won’t regret. Keep strong in your faith in God."
We are thankful for all your support, prayers, and love.
