Help Toshi Li’ili’i Get Back on Her Paws!

UPDATE: Toshi was diagnosed with IVDD & one of her discs ruptured in her neck. However, it did not rupture in her spinal column, so there is no pressure on her spinal cord. The disc ruptured to the side & doing surgery would put Toshi at risk for other complications. So our pet Neurologist, decided not to do surgery & treat Toshi’s injury with steroids & other medications instead, in hopes that scar tissue will grow over it to guard the nerve that is causing her pain. Toshi was in the hospital for 2 days for treatment’s & observations. She is now home on strict bed rest for 4-6 weeks, with around the clock medications. We are looking forward to a full recovery.

The Sakaguchi ‘Ohana

If you know us, you know our dogs mean the world to us. Toshi has always been more than just a pet—she is a part of our ‘Ohana. Her boundless energy, wagging tail, and loving spirit have brought so much joy to us and everyone around her. But recently, life took a tough turn. Toshi has been experiencing sudden pain and was diagnosed with a serious spinal condition requiring an MRI and urgent back surgery.

This surgery is crucial to relieve her pain, so she may get back to being her loving and playful self. However, the costs for surgery, post-operative care, and therapy are overwhelming.
