I'm starting a GoFundMe for my best friend of 28 years, Tosha Wood. She's not one to ever ask for help, but I'd love to see if we can raise even just a little for her so she doesn't have to stress about how to pay bills while off of work as this will be the 4th surgery/procedure she’s had in less than 8 months and I know she has exhausted any sick/vacation time she had accumulated.

She will be having a major surgery that consists of a 4-5 day hospital stay (1-2 days in icu) at a hospital 3+ hours from her home at the beginning of August to have a tumor removed from her bronchus intermedius (essentially one of the main airways into her right lung). It's a low-grade form of cancer, thankfully, and typically doesn't spread from the primary tumor site. However, they have a high likelihood of regrowth if they are not removed completely. So, with this mass being within her airway (and originally blocking 90% of the airway prior to a procedure she had at the end of June to remove the bulk of the mass), they will need to remove all of the mass, which will involve removing at least part of a lung lobe, possibly a whole lung lobe, and potentially even a section of a second lobe.

Good news is this is typically the extent of treatment for this type of cancer, so they don't seem to think she'll need any chemo or radiation treatment. So, thankfully, once going through this all, she should be good. However, this is still a major surgery, and she will need to be out of work for 4-6 weeks afterward. Not to mention being away from home for the hospital stay and will need animal care for her many spoiled rotten pets (5 dogs, 1 cat, a dove she rescued as a baby and 5 chickens).

Tosha has been a great friend of mine since we were little kids. I hate that I live 2,352 miles away from her and can't be there to help, but I'm hoping by starting this GoFundMe, I can help her out in that way. ANY LITTLE AMOUNT HELPS Thanks in advance!
