Tory is moving on from an impressive and exciting career as a wildlife biologist to attend vet school and pursue her true passion – helping animals live their very best lives!! Those of us who have witnessed the love and care she has lavished not just on her own adorable, lovable, special needs mutts, but on our animals as well, know that she will be an outstanding vet. And we all know how desperately Juneau needs more good vets!!

I am starting this fundraiser because I know many of you have benefitted as I did from Tory’s generosity with her time and knowledge and vet tech experience. I can’t count the times that Tory helped me with my dogs over the years – she trimmed nails and expressed anal glands, assessed limps and lumps, took them for walks and dog sat, and introduced me to the wonders of pumpkin when Ziggy’s digestive system was acting up. She also gave me some of the most effective dog training advice I received during the early days with our rescue pup Buddy. I am so grateful to her for all of her help.

As a wildlife biologist working for the state, accumulating any savings was a challenge, but Tory got creative and took on various side hustles over the years, leaving her just $20,000 short of the amount she needs to cover her first year’s expenses without having to take out a high interest student loan. Please consider joining me in supporting Tory during her first year so she can focus on her education, rather than worrying about how she will be able to repay her student loans. In future years she will qualify for in-state tuition and cheaper loans, which will make school more financially feasible.
