Support Torrie's Battle with LGL Leukemia

Hello, I am Angela and I am trying to help my oldest daughter, Torrie raise money for medical expenses.
Backstory: In December of 2023 Torrie was diagnosed with T-Cell LGL Leukemia, following two recent diagnosis of Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis earlier in 2023. She has been sick with worsening symptoms since late 2021 and finally found the answer- where we hoped that would be the end of it and could find relief and treatment. However, the 2 first lines of treatment for LGL Leukemia (which usually also helps autoimmune at the same time) failed. She did not respond to either of these and continued to have worsening symptoms, hospitalizations, and severely low blood counts causing her to have very little immune system. Her team of doctors from Athens to University of Vanderbilt agreed to try an off label drug that had been showing good results for other patients with LGL Leukemia- however, Torrie failed this one too. Though she has some of the best doctors in Tennessee, they are unsure which treatment to try next as the next option can be permanently damaging to her bone marrow and cause severe issues for her in the future. She is only 28 years old, with two daughters, a husband and family who are trying to help in any way possible. Some of the symptoms she experiences day to day are fevers, recurring infections that can turn fatal, fatigue, neutropenic canker sores, dizziness, confusion, severe joint pain causing difficulty walking/getting around, lymph node swelling and pain, severe neutropenia (very low-none) neutrophils- a type of white blood cell that fights infections. She wants nothing more to be a healthy, normal 28 year old again for her two girls.
Our mission: Vanderbilt has ultimately decided they are not comfortable trying another form of chemo until Torrie can see Dr. Loughran- an oncologist at UVA who actually founded Torrie’s specific type of Leukemia and is our best bet at finding the right treatment. Unfortunately Torrie has state insurance and this out-of-state hospital does not accept her insurance. To add to this, the hospital is approx an 8 hour drive plus lodging. We have an estimated bill for initial testing and the first appt with UVA to be around $5,000. While her husband Isaiah works full time to provide for daily needs, Torrie has not been able to work a regular 9-5 since 2023. We all know asking for help is hard, but in this situation- it’s urgent that she gets the healthcare she needs. We cannot pass up this opportunity to get her to the best Doctor with this specific Leukemia, he is her best bet for help. It may appear that I have set the goal high but we only know the estimated expenses for her first visit to UVA, not including travel and lodging. We have no idea how many times she will have to make the trip or what other testing may be required after she gets there. We ask for prayers more than anything. So please keep her in your prayers and share her story with as many people as you can. We pray she can find relief and continue to live a healthy long life with her family. Thank you for every penny donated and every prayer whispered.
