Toronto's First Post Office, located at 260 Adelaide Street East, in Toronto, Ontario remains Canada's oldest purpose-built Post Office still in operation, Canada's only museum that focuses on postal history, and the only interpretive centre dedicated to the history of Toronto's Old Town neighbourhood. Governed and operated by a non-profit charity, the Town of York Historical Society, Toronto's First Post Office is a museum, a National Historic Site, stationery hub, and a fully functioning Post Office, making it one of Toronto's oldest and only buildings still fulfilling its original historic purpose.

Toronto's First Post Office researches, interprets, and shares the history of the Town of York and early City of Toronto through exhibitions, walks, talks, and stationery events, and education programming for residents and visitors of all ages. In addition, the Museum cares for a carefully curated collection of artifacts, archives, and library, which they showcase through rotating temporary exhibits and community events.

Due to inflation, rising costs, and the discontinuation of an annual grant, our need and reliance on donations has become a necessity to keep our doors open.
