I am Victoria’s (Tori) mom, Mattie. This is her story of the last 3 weeks as best as I can tell it under these circumstances. It’s hard to even find the words for something like this.

One day, Tori, a loving mother, a thriving, hardworking talented cosmetologist was living her normal, beautiful life, enjoying Easter at a crawfish boil with friends and family. The next day during a workout warmup Tori heard the sound of a pop in her head and she hit the floor in excruciating pain….in that instant her life changed! Once a healthy, hard-working single mom who did everything she could to take care of herself and her two sweet boys suddenly was fighting for her life.

At first, it was discovered that Tori had a brain aneurysm. Doctors had a plan…surgery estimated time 2-4 hours. Seven hours later, Tori’s neurosurgeon discovered Tori had two brain aneurysms and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Tori’s doctor dropped 14 coils in the aneurysms, placed a stent in her brain, and diffused a blood clot in her right ACA. Thinking the worst was behind us, but when Tori couldn’t move her legs, or wiggle toes, the doctor made the decision to go back in just a couple hours after the first surgery. Everyday brought new challenges, new symptoms. Since then, she’s been through more than anyone should ever have to endure: strokes, seizure, BP issues, angioplasty, several angiograms, serious struggles with her mobility, and so much more!

It’s been devastating, terrifying, and completely life-altering. None of this makes sense. None of which can be explained. None of this was expected. And yet here she is, fighting through every single day, trying to heal and hold onto hope for herself and her boys.

Right now, Tori is facing a long, tough road to recovery. She won’t be able to go back to work any time soon, if at all, and as a single mom, she and her boys need our help more than ever.
