Support Tony’s Stroke Recovery

Hello, my name is Jen dela Luna, and I started this gofundme for my father, Tony dela Luna.

Chances are that if you’re reading this, you know me, whether through friendship, fandom, work, or that bit of the Venn diagram where those things overlap.

Today, February 24, 2023, I found out my dad suffered a stroke nearly a week ago, and has been in the ICU since. To make matters more challenging, he is halfway around the world from me, in Manila, Philippines.

His hospital bills have exceeded $15,000 and given that he’s not out of the woods yet, his medical needs and recovery could easily triple or quadruple (at least!) that bill in the days and weeks to come.

My passion for fandom, food, travel, and music were all products of my father’s influence on me… so while you may not know him personally, you will certainly see the mark he has left on me as a person. I would not be the person I am without the examples he’s shown me of his exuberance for life, his penchant for public speaking, his palate and absolute natural mastery in the kitchen, his loyalty to his loved ones… plus all of the decades he’s spent tirelessly working to support me, my siblings, and my mom.

I am humbly asking for any support you would be able to give to help us with these mounting expenses. Your kindness will go towards his medical bills, and any additional expenses we may have to incur (including but not limited to travel halfway around the world).

My dad is the ultimate Bard of Eloquence… and I learned from the best. I can’t wait to see him roll a Natural 20 and beat all of this, and I thank you for helping him by casting Guidance and giving him Bardic Inspiration. Thank you for your generosity.
