Please consider helping to donate to Tony, a beautiful and loving boy who needed some kindness and a warm place to stay for the winter. Tony is currently in my care, where I'm doing the best that I can to manage his many needs. He has been all alone for so long and it shows in his body and his health. He is almost completely emaciated to the bone, and though I'm giving him all the food and water he could possibly need, it is not enough due to his medical issues.

Tony’s biggest issue is a tumor in his lungs which is also causing breathing problems thus making him more prone to infections, but with treatment Tony has a real chance for survival. He also has Hyperthyroidism, currently to the point where a palpable, enlarged thyroid nodule is clearly apparent. This disease greatly increases the metabolism in cats to the point that they are always dehydrated and can find it difficult to keep any weight on their body no matter how much they eat. In later stages, this condition can cause blindness, kidney failure, and awful vomiting, all the while leading to death.

On top of this, Tony has other health issues such as Dental Disease, Respiratory Infection, Ear Infection, and persistent nosebleeds (this could be due to his hyperthyroidism, dental disease, respiratory infection, or something currently unknown). While I've taken him to the vet, given him vaccinations and many exams, and am currently administering multiple medications for his infections, there is still a lot for him that needs to be done.

The procedure for his Hyperthyroidism, that can alleviate most of Tony's problems, is an injection of radioactive iodine that is an actual CURE for the disease. This will give him so much relief, as he will be able to hold onto the food that he eats and water that he drinks. The procedure costs about $2400; in addition Tony will need any help you can give for treating the tumor in his lung. Please consider giving any small amount that you can so that Tony can get 1 step closer to living the rest of his life in loving peace and happiness. The next step that I would like to tackle after his Tumor and Hyperthyroidism is Tony's Dental Disease, as I'm sure it is also causing him much discomfort.
