Growing up, my brother Tony was always doing something for others. It’s just who he is, someone whose heart has always been bigger than his own needs. Tony has always been the kind of person who gives without hesitation and over the years, he has shared his numerous gifts with so many. Anyone who has ever met Tony knows just how unstoppable he can be when he puts his mind to something.

Back in June, Tony's life was flipped upside down when he was diagnosed with ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma-a rare and aggressive form of cancer that less than 1,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with each year. This cancer spreads rapidly and without immediate treatment, the average survival is just 3 to 6 months.

The good news is that ALK-positive ALCL responds well to strong first-line treatment. Tony has started an intensive chemotherapy regimen called BV + CHP, which combines a targeted drug with three chemo agents. It is the most effective option for this type of lymphoma and gives Tony the best chance at long-term remission and possibly even a cure. But it is also incredibly intense, physically taxing, and must be delivered on a strict schedule with no delays. Tony will be receiving a total of 12 chemo infusions in all, and if all goes well we hope for him to have his last round of chemo in November of 2025. While insurance helps with some of these costs there are still significant out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered, including all of the costs that come up from after-care and remission monitoring. We’re raising funds to support Tony’s treatment and medical care. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to easing that burden—and brings Tony one step closer to healing.
