Tonya is facing one of the toughest battles of her life after being diagnosed with Stage 3 Squamous Cell Lung Cancer. She is unable to work, and her husband, Rick, has had to take significant time off to care for her and manage appointments. On top of it, he also cares for his mother, Rose, in their home. As a result of taking off, their household income has dropped dramatically, and bills are quickly piling up, adding extra stress to an already overwhelming situation.

Tonya is currently undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation, and she has already endured several surgeries as part of her treatment. The medical bills are mounting, and everyday household expenses are becoming harder to manage, especially because medications and treatment will continue, and because she is currently hospitalized. As of today, her ulcerative colitis has taken a turn for the worse. She had a surgical procedure around Friday to remove most of her large intestine. In return, her small bowel is finally waking up. She should hopefully start a liquid diet today or tomorrow.

While family members are able to help with meals and other areas of support, the financial burden falls entirely on Tonya and Rick. They are doing everything they can to stay afloat, but the costs of treatment and daily living are more than they can handle alone.
