Tony Matthews was my brother-in-law born & raised in Atlanta, Ga. His loss has left our family heartbroken. On April 12, 2026, Tony was tragically murdered in Brookhaven, GA. He was an innocent bystander, shot three times while sleeping in front of Kroger around 2:30am. The shock and pain of losing him in such a senseless way is something we are still struggling to process.
Tony was a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind a 10-month-old child, his wife, and three stepchildren whom he recently brought from Uganda to America. Before his passing, Tony was working tirelessly to secure green cards for his wife and stepchildren, hoping to build a better life for them here. Now, his family faces not only the unimaginable grief of losing him, but also the uncertainty of their future in a new country.
We are reaching out to our community for help. The funds raised will go toward Tony’s funeral expenses and supporting his wife and children as they navigate this difficult time. Please, if anyone can help us bury Tony and support his family as they work to secure their green cards, we would be deeply grateful. Any donation or share means so much to our family during this tragedy.
