Hi family and friends,

I am reaching out on behalf of my baby brother, Tony Kurbad, who is currently facing one of the toughest battles ahead. He has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is scheduled to undergo major surgery on January 29. This surgery is a critical step in his treatment and recovery, but it will also require a long and difficult healing process.

Unfortunately, my brother’s insurance will not cover this surgery. The doctor he is seeing is trying to resolve this with the hospital, but the procedure has been deemed not covered, leaving all medical expenses to be paid out of pocket. To make matters more difficult, the hospital requires full payment upfront and does not offer payment plans. This includes the surgery, hospital fees, anesthesia, and related care. Also, there are only a handful of surgeons in Texas who are experienced in the type of surgery he needs. These costs are more than our family can manage alone, which is why we are asking for help.

Anyone who knows Tony knows what a genuinely good guy he is. He has so many friends because he’s always been the kind of guy who shows up for others — helping whenever someone is in need, without hesitation. Now, he’s the one who needs support.

During his recovery, Tony will be unable to work for some time, creating a significant financial strain. Between medical bills, daily living expenses, and time away from work, the burden quickly adds up — on top of the physical and emotional toll this diagnosis has already taken.

We are asking for help to ease this financial stress so Tony can focus fully on healing and regaining his strength. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help cover medical expenses, household bills, and basic necessities during his recovery.
