Tony Benardo has been a long time friend and co-worker of mine and countless other carpenters and various tradesmen and women. He has been active in the carpenter's union for over 2 decades and served in our great nation's military prior to that. He's always entertaining to be around and has the ability to make even a bad job more fun. He wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to stick up for what's right for his brothers/sisters...often times while pushing the boundaries of a given set of rules. He never hesitates to help out a friend out often putting himself in worse spots so others don't have to. For anyone who has ever had the chance to have even a small conversation knows that above all things, he is a family man first. A man who I've heard constantly talk about how much he loves his wife and kids and has often made the hard sacrifices to support them in return for more valuable time with them. Right now, Tony and his family could use a bit of support.
Tony recently had an accident while spending time with his family up north and injured himself pretty badly. Here is the initial post from his wife, Amber, informing what had happened a bit more:
"I've debated posting. I really have.
This man has been my rock through everything. I damn near lost him yesterday. He fell off the roof . I can never unsee the whole thing. I carried him to my van. Ask me how. I don't know. I just did.
He is in Neuro ICU in Saginaw Trauma hospital. He has at least 4 spinal fractures.
No, I'm not ok. It just replays and I can't stop it. I. Can't. Stop. It.
We've been together a long time. I can't do this without him. He's in so much pain. Nothing I can do. It kills me.
Mo Anam Cara.
Thank you to my family and friends. You've been a huge rock. My parents drove 4 hrs to take the kids, Tony's brother Kenny stayed at the hospital last night when they transferred him 2 hrs away. I couldn't go.
Countless texts and offers of help.
My ladies. I love you. You know who you are. You did everything you could to keep me sane. Thank you village, thank you.
Thank you for those who sent prayers on posts you didn't even know was for us. I seen, I'm thankful for every one of you. Please keep them coming.
I'll update soon."

Whether you are a family member, friend, co-worker, union brother/sister or complete stranger who just understands the struggles this family must be going through- I'm asking to please help out in anyway you can. Even small contributions will be helpful.
