Hello everyone. This beautiful woman right here is my mom, Antonia/Toni. She has been living with me & my family for nearly 10 years, and we are absolutely blessed to have her with us. She is the kindest and most selfless person you will ever meet. She is always thinking of others over herself. For the last 3 months she started having some medical complications which led us having to go into the Emergency room twice and this time she was diagnosed with having an autoimmune disorder which is causing her body to react causing a severe rash all over and intense itching. He legs swelled up and she was extremely week. After many tests, scans, x-rays and an EKG she was diagnosed with congenital heart failure and is under a heart failure program which is up to me to make sure we stick with. She is looking at physical therapy, appointments with a dermatologist located over an hour away, appointments with a cardiovascular specialist and more frequent follow ups with her primary care physician. The treatments provided to her caused her to leave the hospital in better condition than when she first arrived, but she still has a way to go before she is in the clear. I am making this fundraiser with my mom's permission to share it as well the support of my siblings in hopes of some support. Literally days before I took her into the ER, I received notification that her spousal benefit from my +dad's retirement would be cut beginning the end of this month due to an error/overpayment prior to my dad's passing. They are basically taking back what they overpaid him years ago, but it couldn't come at a worse time. Although I have always financially supported my mom above what her monthly income was, unfortunately her numerous appointments to different specialist, special meal plans, and skin care/treatment requirements will mean I will have to cut my work schedule by almost half. That, and her income to be cut short will prove difficult. There will be lots of travel, missed work, medical bills possibly not fully covered, medical equipment & supplies that I will need to get, and she is a fall risk therefore cannot be left alone. I will always take care of my mom regardless, but I am asking and hoping for any kind of help to ease the financial burden of providing what she needs. Anything would help, even sharing this GoFundMe would mean the world to me and my family.
