My name is Olga Bautista, and I’m organizing this GoFundMe to support my brother, Tonin, and his family after a devastating house fire that took everything from them.

On Sunday afternoon, Tonin, his wife, and their three children lost their home in a two-alarm fire. They escaped with only the clothes on their backs and were forced to watch in horror from a neighbor’s house across the street as firefighters battled the fire for hours. During the response, one firefighter was injured while bravely working to contain the blaze.

It is believed the fire started in the basement, in a room where the children’s gifts were stored, possibly caused by a lithium battery. The home, their belongings, furniture, and nearly everything they owned were destroyed. The family had only lived in this house for a few years and were still building memories there.

My brother is a hardworking truck driver who does everything he can to provide a stable, loving life for his family. His wife works as a teacher assistant at a nearby school. Together, they are raising three children: their oldest son, who attends George Washington High School; a five-year-old at George Washington Elementary School; and their youngest, two-year-old Natalia.

Despite this unimaginable loss, the family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have already received, and for the first responders who fought valiantly to save their home and keep everyone safe.

Right now, they need immediate help with temporary housing, clothing, food, school supplies, and the many unexpected costs that come with starting over. This is a long road, and they cannot walk it alone.

Mi nombre es Olga Bautista y estoy haciendo esta recaudación en GoFundMe para ayudar a mi hermano, Tonin, y a su familia después de un incendio muy fuerte que destruyó su casa.

El domingo por la tarde, Tonin, su esposa y sus tres hijos perdieron su hogar en un incendio. Salieron de la casa solo con la ropa que llevaban puesta. Desde la casa de un vecino, al otro lado de la calle, tuvieron que ver cómo los bomberos luchaban contra el fuego por varias horas. Durante el incendio, uno de los bomberos resultó herido mientras trataba de apagar el fuego.

Se cree que el incendio comenzó en el sótano, en un cuarto donde estaban guardados los regalos de los niños, posiblemente por una batería de litio. La casa y casi todas sus cosas se perdieron. La familia solo había vivido en esta casa por pocos años y todavía estaban formando su hogar allí.

Mi hermano es chofer de camión y trabaja muy duro para mantener a su familia. Su esposa trabaja como asistente de maestra en una escuela cercana.
