Support Tonee’s Fight Against Cervical Cancer

Tonee is a loving mother and grandmother. She works as a dental hygienist, serving and educating the people in her community.

She started to experience some symptoms that she attributed to “the big change.” We’ve all heard from older women in our lives that menopause symptoms can be dreadful and unpredictable, not to mention they can last for years!

But as things worsened, she realized this wasn’t normal and went to see a doctor. On 2/12/25 Tonee was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer, but after a pet scan showed it had traveled to her lymph nodes and tailbone, her diagnosis increased to stage 4.

She hasn’t been able to work since 4/4/25 due to the aggressive chemo, and has used up her remaining vacation and sick time. She’s set to undergo chemo for 6 to 8 weeks and reevaluate after that. She says, “Everything is pretty much covered by insurance other than my daily living expenses you know mortgage, Nipsco, water, cell phone, gas, stuff like that. But as far as insurance itself goes, it’s all covered 100% thank God I’m so grateful.” She’s focusing on the positive and controlling what she can.
