Support Toms River Band: Keep Music Alive

Hi, I am Frank Hughes, Musical Director and Conductor of the Toms River Municipal Band. For 61 years, the band has been co-funded by the Ocean County Commissioners and the Township of Toms River. This year, the Mayor of Toms River has withheld their portion ($10,000.00) of the funding, giving unreasonable conditions to be met to receive the funds. A compromise was proposed; no answer was received from the Mayor for months until public pressure was put on him. He then added more unreasonable and unworkable conditions. When the problems of these conditions were explained, he said he would get back to me. More time has elapsed with no response. The County has been able to increase some of the funding; however, $7,000.00 is needed to fully provide the same quality of free concerts to the Toms River and Ocean County Community that have been given for 61 years. PLEASE HELP US RAISE THESE FUNDS.
