Hi, my name is Tom, and I’m sharing this with humility, honesty, and hope.
For the past five years, I’ve been fighting heart failure, pushing forward, staying positive, and doing everything I can to live a full and meaningful life. Recently, my condition has progressed to end-stage heart failure, and I now face the reality of needing a heart transplant to survive.
This is not an easy thing to say out loud, but I’ve reached a point where I need help.
I’m beginning the next phase of this journey now: extensive testing to determine transplant eligibility, followed by the process of finding a matching donor. While I’m grateful to have insurance, the reality is that many of the costs are out-of-pocket, including testing, travel, medical expenses, medications, and the long recovery period where I won’t be able to work.
This journey isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, mental, and financial. Some days are heavier than others, but I’m meeting this moment with strength, faith, and determination. I’m not giving up. I’m fighting. I’m incredibly grateful for the people standing beside me.
Your support will help cover:
- Pre-transplant testing and evaluations
- Medical and hospital expenses not covered by insurance
- Travel and lodging related to treatment
- Recovery time and basic living expenses during time away from work
Every donation, message, and share truly matters. Even if you can’t give financially, your encouragement means more than you know.
Thank you for being part of my fight, for believing in me, and for helping me move one step closer to healing and hope.
With gratitude and strength,
Tom Tovarnak
