As we all know, Tom Burman has had issues the past 4 years dealing with hip surgery. He got an infection back in 2021 and has been dealing with it ever since. Tom recently started having symptoms again and was found to have multiple fractures in the area. He was supposed to have surgery on May 1st, but during the surgery, the surgeons discovered that the hip was once again infected. They decided to take out the previous hip replacement and put a spacer in to help fight the infection. He has decided to follow the doctor's orders and agree to inpatient rehabilitation and is currently there. He will have 6 to 8 weeks of IV therapy and then, at that time, may do revision hip surgery. He is looking at 6 to 8 months of rehabilitation, no work.
I am starting this because Tom is a man that will never ask for help, but he is the first person who will offer his help. Tom has helped my family out multiple times through sports injuries, and I am just one example of the hundreds of athletes and families that he has helped throughout his many years as an athletic trainer. Consider helping this man and his family during this time. He has always been there for others and now, it is time for us to help him out.
