Support Tom's Fight Against Medical Hardship
Donation protected
Tom and I would like to thank those of you who were to contribute over the holidays so that Tom could buy gifts for his grandchildren and pay off a small amount of his medical expenses. Sadly, as I am sure, we all know the burden has become greater. Toms medical conditions have not improved, and most of us know about his conflict with his ALF. Tom decided to file a complaint with the state of FL. A DCF investigator interviewed him and wanted to pursue it further but advised Tom that by doing this, there is nothing to stop the facility from evicting him. Caring for the 200 plus other assisted living residents that may be taken advantage of the same way, he said yes, move forward. This was late December, and the last week of January 2025, he was given a 7 day eviction. This is horrible, so now he is temporarily staying with a family member who can't take care of him. He is trying to find another ALF to move to, but once they are told that he was evicted, they don't proceed. Please, we have had only about 3% of Tom's EB group contribute. If it's in your heart, please do, and we all thank you very much
Tom's health has been failing for the last 6+ years. Tom's conditions are chronic so it will all continue to progress. Tom has accepted this and so has his loved ones.
