Help Tom Fight ALS — Our Love, Our Life, Our Fight

If you know Tom, you know what kind of person he is. He is someone who has worked hard, loved deeply, and always tried to take care of the people he loves.

Now, Tom needs people to take care of him.

Tom has been diagnosed with ALS, and our world has been turned upside down.

For years, we have built a life together, shared dreams, laughed at the stupidest things, gotten through hard times, and made memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. He is my partner, my best friend, and the person I want beside me through everything life throws at us.

I never imagined that one day I would be writing a fundraiser asking people to help the man I love fight a disease that we can't simply work harder to overcome.

Tom is currently unable to work because of his ALS. That means we're facing not only the fear and uncertainty of his diagnosis, but also the financial strain that comes with losing an income while medical expenses and everyday costs continue.

We're hoping to raise $40,000 to help give Tom the time and security he needs to focus on his health instead of constantly worrying about how we're going to pay the next bill.

Donations will help with medical-related expenses, transportation to appointments, equipment and supplies, household bills, and the many unexpected expenses that come with ALS.

But this fundraiser is about more than money.

It's about giving Tom a little more breathing room during a time when so much of his life has suddenly become uncertain.

It's about helping us keep a roof over our heads, get him where he needs to go, make our home easier and safer for him, and make sure that when we have a good day, we're able to actually enjoy it together instead of worrying about what comes next.

I wish I could fix this for him myself. I wish love was enough to make ALS disappear. Believe me, I'd gladly trade places with him if I could.

Since I can't do that, I'm doing the next thing I can: I'm asking for help.
