We are looking to raise funds to help Tom and his family following Tom's recent cancer diagnosis. Tom was diagnosed in August with a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma called mantle cell lymphoma. The cancer is in his blood, bone marrow, and spleen and has a gene mutation that causes the cancer to become resistant to chemotherapy. Due to this mutation, he will have to receive immunotherapy, which includes IV infusion and oral medicines.

We all know Tom as someone who cares deeply for others and seeks to support them as best he can. He is a man who never takes life too seriously and loves to make others laugh. This diagnosis is jarring, and Tom has a long journey ahead towards healing, yet he is taking all of this in stride.

We would love to see Tom's community surround him in support, and one way to do that is financially. Insurance only goes so far, and they need financial help to offset copays, cover hospital bills from August, and other needs that arise while Tom goes through treatments and recovery.

Although not expected, if you are able to give financially, the Furlong family is greatly appreciative of the support! Thoughts, prayers, aiding in foreseeable house projects, paying Tom social visits to lift his spirits (and maybe getting him some iced coffee), and meals for the family are also appreciated during this time.
